Pintober Artists 2019

We have some incredibly talented pin makers from Instagram participating in Pintober 2019. Watch out for freebies, shop credits and surprises all month long from these magical pin-lords:

 

1. PEPZART

Perpetual is an illustrator and designer from India who loves doodling and all things shiny.  PEPZART is a quirky brand dedicated to delivering quality art products in various forms. With a life-long passion for art, Perpetual has experimented with several mediums while maintaining her whimsical style. She started selling enamel pins inspired from her love of fantasy, magic and cute things in 2017. Her motto is “ Dream – Create – Achieve – Inspire”

2. AMOS PLUSH

A proud Slytherin based in Australia, Amelia of Amos Plush + Pins is a full time graphic designer who began her pin making journey almost 3 years ago. She loves pushing the boundaries of pin making by adding unique, hand made elements to her designs. Amelia also enjoys sewing, crafting nerdy things (mostly Harry Potter) including plush characters with sound and illumination, video games, cats and travel.

3. TWEE STITCH

Started in 2016 by Kelsey from Philadelphia, Twee Stitch has expanded from an embroidery and handmade button brand to enamel pins, stickers, and screen printing. She loves using soft colors and playful illustrations. Her favourite subjects to work with are the Potterhead fandom, all things science, and educational equity.

4. STUDIO PINS & PAPER

Studio Pins & Paper is run together by Ruth, a freelance graphic designer from Utrecht and Danielle, a sponsor service manager for an INGO from Amsterdam.

Daniele, a die-hard Potterhead and a pin collector for 3 years got Ruth to sign up on the pin making adventure and Pottermania.

5. WITHER WINGS WARES

Creating enamel pins since 2016, Wither Wings Wares by Amy Meadors is a shop for witches, wizards and muggles alike to find nerdy wearable flair! Being an avid pin collector since 2008, focusing primarily on Disney and Harry Potter, Amy brings her lover for the wizarding world to all you fans out there. Her pins have specialized effects including pearlized enamel, pin on pin features and interactive parts that spin, slide and move.

6. BLACK WANDA SHOP

Claudia is a pin maker from the South of France. After being an avid collector for for 5 years, she decided to launch her own shop called “Black Wanda Shop” in March 2018. She loves creating super cute designs based on movies and popular series in pastel shades.

7. UTTERLY MAGICAL

Val is an American who said the wrong incantation and ended up in Ireland. Her Patronus is a cat, her Defence Against the Dark Arts is Sarcasm, for Transfiguration she can transform into a complaining adult and the specialises in making the PshPshPsh Potion which enchants any feline to become her friend.

Let me tell you about Utterly Magical. Founded in January of 2018, it was a way for her experiment with enamel  pins and to challenge the boundaries of what’s possible when it comes to creating a mini masterpiece. Her art is quite minimalistic but her pins are anything but, when you combine a keen eye for detail with the search for perfection, it creates something Utterly Magical! (See what I did there?)

Her favorite things to create pins for are Steven Universe, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon and of course Cats! Though her focus for now is strictly on pins, she hopes to eventually move into creating one of a kind items including, buttons, acrylic charms, patches, prints, apparel and an ITA bag.

8. LASER BRAIN PATCH CO

Laser Brain Patch Co is a pop culture pin design company founded by  Stina Sardinha Wulfe. She also has a darker themed witchcraft pin line @lapelsandspells! She is an avid reader, cat petter, mama, cookie eater, a tea drinker and a tattoo artist! Most of her art has an illustrative style with a heavy influence from American Traditional tattoo art.

9. THE SLEEPY DRAGON

Lauren shares her love for all things mythical, geeky and weeb with the world through The Sleepy Dragon. She loves learning new styles, experimenting and making her followers as happy with her designs as she is while making them. She finds immense joy in making the world a happier place through her art and spreading the love.

10. STAMI STUDIOS

Started by Sam Rostami, a UK artist who loves creating cute pins, apparel and bags. Her designs draw inspiration from fandom along with original art. She also runs two limited edition pin clubs for super cute pins.

11. NUTMEG AND ARLO

Nutmeg and Arlo creates fun, quirky and magical fashion accessories and paper goods, with the sole intention of making the owner smile. Founded in 2016 by graphic designer Elle, who wanted to have full reign over her creativity, and to be able to craft her own path, Nutmeg and Arlo is now a full-time, full-blown business.

12. KELLY LOU ILLUSTRATION

Kelly Lou Illustration is a shop by a 30 something introverted doodler from the UK.  Fuelled by tea, magic and KPOP, Kelly loves doodling people and animals and recently illustrated a children’s book. She takes great joy in seeing an idea go from a doodle to an actual wearable thing that people want to buy!

Dust and Pages is a literary brand that caters to only the most devoted bookworms. They create wearable options to allow fellow nerds to  covertly show their love for a series or passion for reading books. Everything is crafted with high quality materials, fangirl hearts, lots of love, and a little magic.

14. ELECTRIC PIN COMPANY

Founded by Sarah, an educator, graphic artist, illustrator and a cat mom, “Electric Pin Company” was created out of love for the art of enamel pin design and collecting. Based out of New York, Electric Pin Company ships worldwide to fellow nerds and geeks across a multitude of fandoms.

15. MUGGLE BORN SISTERS

Founded in 2017 by Alaura and Aubrey from Canada, the Muggle Born Sisters are purveyors of magical flair. While they fashion themselves as a planetary geologist and an x-ray technician in the muggle world, these real life sisters love bringing a touch of portable magic into people’s lives by designing little bits of the wizarding world.

16. LITERARY EMPORIUM

Based out of Somerset, Literary Emporium is a family run business creating gifts for book lovers including jewellery, stationery and apparel. Inspired from classic literature, they have a range of literary themed gifts for bookworms and bibliophiles.

17. THE COLORFUL GEEK

The Colorful Geek provides geek chic apparel and accessories printed and designed by hand in NYC for you to wear and love. Ten years ago, founder and owner Elena Squatrito started her company out of a desire for more creative Potter-related outfits to wear to conventions. What started out as an experiment with a simple letter stamping kit and some cheap tank tops, soon became a serious hobby.  Today, The Colorful Geek sells hoodies, crop tops, t shirts, tanks, sweatshirts, necklaces, bracelets, pins, lanyards, and more.

19. SMUDGE BOOKS

Smudge books is a tag team duo residing in New England dabbling in fairy tale antics. Raquel is an illustrator based in Stratford, Ct. whereas Nereida is a Writer based out of New York, with fields in whimsy and alliteration. They are currently indulging their long-standing enamel pin and sticker obsession by offering a variety of fantasy/fandom related designs. Each pin design is created as a small batch of 100 pieces and are only released once. They have also self published two illustrated books, “Growing Up (And Other Misunderstandings)” and “The Nixie of Mill Pond” plus more art than you can shake a feather at. They live by their Smudge Books slogan: “Things may be dark, things are a bit bittersweet, but everything is magical”

20. MORGANE BRRET SHOP

Morgane is a French illustrator and pin creator who started her online shop in 2016.  Initially selling only illustrations, Morgane created her first pins in 2017. She is inspired by fairy tales, magic, onirism, nature or just about anything poetic. An avid pin collector herself, she treats her pins as little jewels. Morgane studied drawing for 7 years followed by animation cinema before starting her shop.

21. PURE DEAD BRILLIANT STORE

Pure Dead Brilliant Store is a small, one woman store, run by a nerdy hill-walking recluse called Kara, from a wee village at the bottom of Glenshee in Scotland.  Kara loves making pin badges that reflect her favourite things: the spooky, quirky & geeky. The name “Pure Dead Brilliant” is a pun that reflects her Scottish origins and her love of the macabre. “Pure Dead Brilliant” (adj.) – Scottish slang for “the best”. – “Huv yea seen the new Dark Crystal? It’s pure dead brilliant, so it is.

22. WOBBLY SHIKA

Nicola is a cat, books and anime loving human potato. Based out of Sydney, Nicola decided to cope with the trauma of not receiving my Hogwarts acceptance letter by creating her own magical designs. 

Having been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called ASPS in 2014, she donates a portion of her shop profits to a charity called Rare Cancers Australia to help raise awareness and funds.

23. ODDMENT AND TWEAK

Oddment and Tweak, a namesake inspired by the great Albus Dumbledore from the Harry Potter series, started on Halloween 2017 by Dylan as a passion project for all things magical. Since then, O&T has grown to include partners Rossin and Jeanette. Together, the team brings to life the universes that inspires them and pushes their imaginations via dynamic pins and other line extensions. Magical, spooky, and whimsical – we are O&T.

24. THE PIN STUDIO

The Pin Studio was started by John D. Wiltshire, a New York based artist and pin collector, to create enamel pins primarily on Pop Culture. Eventually, smaller ‘brands’ were created on specific genres such as; Artist Series, Crime Alley Pins, Cult Classics, Final Friends, Toon Club and most recently The Animated World of Wizards.John gives special attention to packaging his enamel pins in the most unique way – from custom pin cards, pin sleeves, added stickers, extras for the design to specific colored mailers depending on the series. Each Pin Studio purchase is a new experience!

25. JENNA CRAIG DESIGN

Jenna Craig is an Irish pin maker based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She started her Instagram store in 2016 to fund her graphic design studies. She makes pins based on movies, books, comics and pop culture that she loved as a kid and still loves today at 29 years of age! She has made pins based on X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War, Harry Potter, Stranger Things, The Mummy and Avengers: End Game. Jenna loves pushing the boundaries of what can be done with pins, to come up with complex and unique designs. Jenna loves to try out new ideas for more elaborate pins and looks forward to collaborating with other pin makers and small business owners.

26. SARAH COSICO

Sarah Cosico is an Illustrator and Character Designer living in Portland, Oregon with her husband, son, and doggo. When she isn’t designing new Potter pins, you can usually find her lying face down on the couch, having an existential crisis.

27. MAD UNICORN HANDMADE

Mad Unicorn Handmade is a magical shop located next to the entrance to the wizarding world, accessible to all muggles! The owner, Alissa, (whose patronus is a unicorn) spends hours casting spells and working her magic on making shiny and unique pins. Alissa loves pastel colors, gold, and glitter. She doesn’t quite get the significance of a rubber duck in the bath but she loves travelling around the muggle world which is where she gets her inspiration from. Alissa also has a monthly magical pin club, which delivers a limited edition pin every month ( of course by owl post). She only makes a limited quantity, so go get them before they are gone!

28. SUNSET ROAD CO.

Nikki started Sunset Road Co. in July of 2017 along with her husband Ty (and their three rescue cats!) The shop includes a variety of products like enamel pins, stickers, magnets and more. Their motto is “Stay Magical” because we all need a little reminder to keep finding the magic within ourselves!

Sandra is an illustrator from Luxembourg. She launched her brand “Four Seasons Fox” in 2017 after graduating from animation school where she sells really cute art merchandise like enamel pins, art prints and much more.

30. POPPINS COLLECTIBLES

Cynthia ventured into pin making under the name Poppins Collectibles in 2019 after earning her pharmaceutical license.  She loves making her collectors feel special and connected with her with the keen attention to detail she puts not only in her pins, but in her packaging as well. Cynthia’s most popular pins to date are her fan art pins for both Harry Potter and Game of Thrones under her recently-released Portrait Series: the Magical Studies Series featuring the Hogwarts Professors, and the Faces of Westeros illustrating the characters of Game of Thrones.
